100 Afghan Street Kids shared a meal with 100 Afghan labourers to launch #Enough! on 21st Sept, the International Day of Peace
#Enough! was launched at a celebratory event in Kabul, Afghanistan, on the 21st of September 2015, the International Day of Peace.
It was appropriate that an effort to abolish war was launched from one of the global centres of war. At one point in the Afghan war, 50 countries were involved in the U.S./NATO coalition. After 14 years, the war is still ongoing and turning worse.
At the launch event in Kabul, the Afghan Peace Volunteers worked with 100 Borderfree Afghan Street Kids to cook and serve a meal to 100 Afghan labourers. This demonstrated a divestment of our energies and money away from war-making to meeting the basic needs of fellow human beings.
Following the launch, the Afghan Peace Volunteers are continuing their long-term work of building a world without war for the 100 street kids, through the Borderfree Street Kids School at the Borderfree Nonviolence Community Centre in Kabul.
Gail Malone organized a solidarity action and wrote:
In recognition of their gesture of love through kindness we, the Support Assange and WikiLeaks Coalition, made a small shrine at the War Widows Memorial – Gosford Memorial Park. The one hundred hands with #Enough! printed on them represent the Streets Kids and the labourers they fed.
The Memorial is in remembrance of all women and children who lost loved ones due to wars and conflict in the 20th century.

Inscription on Plaque:
The Fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean.
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion:
Nothing in the world is single
All things by a law divine
Why not I with thine?
